File Management

Sometimes students can feel overwhelmed with the number of files they must keep track of in their studies. Of course, for our purposes here, we will focus on electronic files (not the paper ones being balanced in the photo to the right). You will see, however, that the basic file management concepts apply both to the hard copy (paper) and the electronic file.

Understanding these basic concepts is essential to succeeding in an electronic world. The goal of this lesson is to provide you with basic definitions related to file managment, an overview of the way files and folders are organized on a computer, instructions for working with a file management utility to organize your files and folders, and strategies, how-to's and tips that you can use to more efficiently manage your work.
